Downtown Austin

Austin is a very unique town. I spend a lot of my time downtown and almost always have my camera. You never you when you might see or experience something that you want to capture.

The photo above was taken between 2nd and 3rd streets. I am fascinated by advertisements, especially vintage advertising. Notice the wording on the left? I wonder if Wrigley advertised spearmint gum as "fatigue relieving"...

This was taken on the corner of 10th Street and Congress Avenue, directly in front of the State Capitol building. I had just made a stop in the coffee shop there and came out to this sky. The days leading up to that day had been in the 100's and sunny. So when I stepped out to the sky, I had to capture it. Such a rarity in July.

I've passed this wall on 8th Street at Congress Avenue at least a dozen times. Every time I passed it I thought "I should really take a photo of this wall; it might not be here for ever." So, finally, one day I did! The red paint is so vibrant and looked amazing in bright summer sun.
